Cooking, cars, wild boars and other randomness

I call these pictures: "Bored, lazy, drunk and weird in Budapest." I was on vacation. We didn't go out and see mummified arms and communist memorabilia every damn day. Some days we lounged around John's Soviet dorm and got drunk in the afternoon off a strange liquor that John bought from an old woman on the side of the road in Croatia. It had a live plant in the bottle and the woman told John it was "Good for your heart." Wanting our hearts to be strong, we took a little nip or two every now and then. It caused us to come up with some brilliant ideas, like making boar meat sausage and balancing things on other things. Observe.

John is actually a really good cook and he treated me to a few Hungarian specialties. These pictures show us making Chicken Paprikash Chirka. I ate it for three days and nights and on the fourth day I rested, fully sated.

Some ingredients

The chicken goes on top of pasta, which John also made from scratch

Why sausage? That seems random.

Well, it looks like you had a great time! I'm glad.

Too bad you had to return to good ole' Woodmere Apartments. :-)
